| Built on a 95-metre long towable barge named the “Pietro Alpi”, the ALPI C.I. (Cote d’Ivoire) production unit is an authentic floating factory. Originally launched in 1975 from the Ravenna shipyards, it was towed to Cameroon where it operated until 1987. It was then moved to the Ivory Coast where it currently operates with 150 workers. This floating peeling plant continues to be a crucial part of the group’s production processes in Africa. It is now mainly used for the production of rotary cut veneers for export. |
