ALPI@3daysofdesign 2026
ALPI will again be in Copenhagen for 3daysofdesign, this year with "Piazza Interiore", a new episode in the company's design dialogue with GamFratesi.
Inspired by Mediterranean sensitivity and the metaphysical dimension found in paintings by Giorgio de Chirico, the site-specific installation is a blend of rarefied atmospheres, sharp shadows and silent tectonics that together create a surreal perceptual landscape where visual depth and rhythm guide visitors into an unhurried immersive experience. The space takes on an almost mental dimension.
Active fields of ALPI wood transform the architecture into an inner landscape. Different types of grain dilate and contract while directing the eye, continuously altering our impression of the surroundings. The light traversing the surfaces reveals their compositional structure as it builds perspectival sequences and variations of intensity.
Conceived to be a still, introspective piazza that is open and crossable yet deeply meditational, "Piazza Interiore" is rooted in the conviction that matter can always surprise us in its most basic form.
