ALPI @Nomad St. Moritz

6 - 9 February 2020

St. Moritz

After the recent participation in Venice at Nomad Circle, the traveling showcase of collectible design, ALPI updates its collaboration with Galleria Luisa Delle Piane and confirms its presence at Nomad St. Moritz, from 6 to 9 February 2020. The fair brings together the leading international galleries in prestigious locations to create exhibitions of works and objects spanning design and contemporary art. The next edition will be held at the Chesa Planta, a historic estate located in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

In its space, Galleria Luisa Delle Piane will present Xeno, Palladio and Idrogeno, three collectible pieces created by Piero Lissoni in 2019 for ALPI at the time of the exhibition in the showroom “La Tavola degli Elementi.”

The objects designed by Lissoni are small works of architecture entirely clad in ALPI wood, inspired by the brilliant discovery of the chemist Mendeleev, which seem to be ordered according to a compositional formula of chemical element-modules. Through this collection, the architect pays homage to the marvelous synthesis of the Table of Elements, revealing the cosmic fable that lies behind it.

ALPI has decided to issue this special collection in a limited edition, sold exclusively by Galleria Luisa Delle Piane. The gallery has operated for over 40 years in the field of 20th-century decorative arts and design, expertly interpreting the evolutions of the world of objects and the poetics of their genesis.

This important collaboration is the result of the desire to follow up on the pathway of cultural growth that began in 2017 through special projects in collaboration with international designers, granted total freedom to interpret ALPI wood in keeping with their own approaches, to create unique works of design.
