ALPI keeps telling the beauty of wood at Architect @ Work Istanbul, presenting a selection of wooden surfaces created in collaboration with international designers. A@W is one of the main events in Europe for the updating of designers and professionals: an exhibition format dedicated exclusively to highly innovative products. Indeed, ARCHITECT@WORK Istanbul’s 4th edition will be organized around the “FUTURE PROOF” theme.
On the occasion of Architect @ Work Istanbul, ALPI will exhibit some of its most important collections created in collaboration with important designers in the project world.
The new woods presented at the FuoriSalone 2019 designed by Martino Gamper and Piero Lissoni, the company's art director, are the protagonists of this edition. On the one hand, Martino Gamper has come up with a new type of wood that does not exist in nature, forging beyond the boundaries of experimentation to generate the wood “Gamperana Triplex”; on the other, Piero Lissoni has investigated the possible expressions of natural wood, such as cherry, reinterpreting its identity in a more contemporary way.
Alongside these new developments, the company will be showing other collections of remarkable wood surfaces: from the multicolored dots of the reissue of the first wood made by ALPI for Atelier Mendini in 1991, Pointillisme COL and B/N by Atelier Mendini with Alex Mocika, to the charm of clouds transformed into graphic signs in the model Cloudy by GamFratesi, all the way to the famous ALPI Sottsass Red by the designer Ettore Sottsass.
